Mariette Chao, MSW, LCSW
Mariette, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker, certified birth doula, and founder of Marsolais Wellness. Based in Denver, Colorado, where she and her husband are raising two spirited young boys, Mariette has built her career around helping individuals and families navigate life’s major transitions with compassion, authenticity, and deep respect for each person’s identity and lived experience.
Mariette sees clients virtually and in person (at the OWN clinic), and has clients based in both Colorado and Pennsylvania. Her clinical background includes a Master’s in Clinical Social Work from New York University, advanced training in a Yale-based family systems model, and continued specialization in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, adult ADHD, shame, grief, and therapeutic writing. As a DONA-certified birth doula, she has supported Denver-area families through cesarean births, inductions, VBACs, and vaginal deliveries, drawing inspiration from her own birth experiences and the profound support she received from her sister - whom Marsolais Wellness is named after.
As a board member of The OWN Project, Mariette contributes her expertise in perinatal mental health, trauma-informed care, and family systems work to strengthen the nonprofit’s mission of expanding equitable access to pelvic floor therapy, doula support, and holistic wellness services. Her presence on the board helps ensure that emotional and psychological well-being remain central to the care provided to women and birthing people throughout the Denver community.
