The OWN Project is a Denver women's health nonprofit powered by people who decided to do something about a problem they couldn't stop thinking about. Every scholarship we fund and every workshop we host starts with a small group of volunteers who believe the same stubborn thing: the care that changes a woman's life shouldn't be a luxury.
Where this started
The OWN Project grew out of years of frontline experience in pelvic health. Our founder watched two things happen at once: how genuinely life-changing this care is - women getting out of pain, back to movement, through birth and recovery feeling supported and whole - and how many people never got in the door at all, simply because they couldn't afford it. The OWN Project is our answer to that gap.
Why our board says yes
Our board members come from different corners of life — healthcare, business, birth work, and our own community — but they share a conviction. Some have lived the exact gap we're closing. Some have supported someone who did. All of them decided that “someone should do something” was really “we should do something.” They review scholarship applications confidentially, plan events, and open their networks, all as volunteers.
What we stand for
Everything we do runs on five pillars: education, empowerment, access, collaboration, and community. We partner only with providers who share our values: trauma-informed care, clinical excellence, and a real commitment to equitable access.
There's room for you here
When you give to The OWN Project, this is who you're standing with: not a distant institution, but a group of neighbors who pooled their skills and their belief that women deserve better. Whether you give, volunteer, or simply share our work, you become part of the story.
