How to Apply for Support Through The OWN Project: What to Expect

You found us. Maybe you have been searching for pelvic floor therapy but could not afford it. Maybe someone referred you. Maybe you have been living with symptoms for years and finally decided to look for a different kind of help.

Whatever brought you here: welcome. You are in the right place.

This post walks you through exactly what the application process looks like so there are no surprises.

Who Can Apply?

The OWN Project provides financial assistance for pelvic floor therapy and doula services in the Denver, Colorado area. We serve people who:

  • Are experiencing symptoms related to pelvic floor dysfunction at any life stage

  • Are pregnant or postpartum and seeking birth doula support

  • Face financial barriers to accessing specialized pelvic health care

You do not need a referral from a doctor. You do not need a diagnosis. You just need to reach out.

What Services Are Covered?

Our scholarship program can support:

  • Pelvic floor therapy sessions with licensed specialist providers

  • Doula services for pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period

All care is provided through our trusted clinic and provider partners, each of whom specializes in women's and pelvic health.

What Does the Application Process Look Like?

We have worked to make the process as straightforward and low-barrier as possible. Here is what to expect:

Step 1: Submit Your Application

Visit theownproject.org and click "Apply for Support." The application asks for basic information about you, the type of care you are seeking, and your financial situation. It takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete.

Step 2: Our Team Reviews Your Application

Once submitted, our team reviews your application to assess fit and availability. We will reach out within the week to let you know next steps. If we are not able to support you at this time, we will do our best to connect you with other resources.

Step 3: Get Connected to a Provider

If your application is approved, we connect you with one of our clinic or provider partners. Your care is coordinated directly with the clinic, and you will receive the same high-quality, specialized treatment as any typically paying patient. Your experience at the clinic is confidential.

Step 4: Receive Care

Start your healing journey.

Common Questions

Do I have to prove my income?

The application does include questions about your financial situation. We take a whole-picture approach and do not use a strict income cutoff.

Is there a waitlist?

Availability varies. We encourage you to apply even if you are not sure, so we can contact you as soon as a spot opens up.

What if I am not in Denver?

Our in-person services are currently based in the Denver metro area. We are actively working to expand. If you are outside our area, reach out at hello@theownproject.org and we will do what we can to point you in the right direction.

What if I have questions before applying?

You can always email us at hello@theownproject.org. We are real people, and we are glad you reached out.

You do not have to keep waiting.

Applying takes about 15 minutes. Feeling better could start a lot sooner than you think. You can apply here.
